Why a standard implant fails — and a zygomatic one holds

Both start at the gum. The difference is what they grip.

What are zygomatic implants?
Extra-long dental implants (30–52.5 mm) anchored in the cheekbone rather than the jaw, used to support fixed teeth when the upper jaw has too little bone for standard implants.
Are zygomatic implants safe?
In experienced hands published survival is around 95–96%, similar to standard implants. The most common complication is sinusitis, reported at around 14% prevalence in the 2023 ITI consensus review; serious complications are rare but possible.
How much do zygomatic implants cost?
Typically £15,000–£28,000 for a full arch in the UK, and from around £5,500–£7,500 as a package in Turkey. See the full cost guide for what’s included.
I was told I have no bone at all. Is it still possible?
Often, yes — quad zygoma treatment anchors all four implants in the cheekbones and needs no jawbone. Only a CT scan can confirm it.
